The System of Research, Innovation, and Technological Development of the State of Yucatan (SIIDETEY), created by governmental decree in 2008, is formed by a set of Superior Education Institutions and Research Centers whose objective is to potentialize and articulate the capabilites of the State in subject of high level human resources, as well as scientific research, innovation, and technological development.


Scientific and Technological Park of Yucatan
SIIDETEY is located in the Scientific and Technological Park of Yucatan (approximately 25 miles northwest of Merida City, and within an hour). With 12 Superior Education Institutions, 9 enterprises, and 5 goverment institutions as members, SIIDETEY has become a potential system for scientific advance in the State.  


Academic Programs
With 10 areas of focus, 8 laboratories, and 160 posgraduate programs, which 123 of these are masters, 24 specializations, and 13 doctorate, Yucatan consolidates as an important pole of science and technology in the country.


SIIDETEY aims for the integral impulse of science through high-impact infrastructure, the impulse of posgraduate programs, widening of human capacities, information, differentiated strategies, and strategic financing.
